how can we convert segy velocity field to ASCII file?
The *.nmo to wgf application on the Velocities tab can be used to create text files in the Western Geophysical velocity file format (wgf), ESSOV2, simple line or column formatted files. Click the help button in this application or go to section 16.4.1 of the Claritas manual for more detail. 7 years ago |

minimum phase conversion
The VIBCORR module can be used to correlate vibroseis data. Once the data has been correlated you can extract a trace or wavelet representative of your data and use the Wavelet application to create a minimum phase conversion filter for your data. 6 years ago |

First break picking with different sorting
Hi All, I'm doing tomographic-style full-waveform inversion, and one of the things I use Globe Claritas for is picking first-arrivals on the full-offset data (in quite a bit more detail than is common for refraction statics). These picks have to be QC'd quite closely, as they are used in traveltime inversion to build a velocity model for input into the FWI process. I generally use the program sv to do the picking, but I have been having difficulties picking in more than one domain. E.g., the fi... 6 years ago |

First break picking with different sorting
Because the usual use for the *.pic files, created when picking first arrivals in SV or XVIEW, is to provide the input for the refstat and refstat3d applications the picks must be made on data with Pkey=SHOTID and Skey=CHANNEL. Thus if you sort the data to different Pkey and Skey values and then plot with XVIEW or SV you will not be able to pick first arrivals. However, if you open the source-gathers in SV you can make use of the 'sort' button at the top of the plot to define what Pkey and Skey... 6 years ago |

DMO
Firstly, apologies if this post is in the wrong place. I am working on applying a DMO to my data set, however I am running into problems with (I believe) my offsets. I would really appreciate some hints or tips for applying DMO and making sure all the parameters in Claritas are correct. Thanks, Kate 6 years ago |

DMO
Hi Kate Do you have access to our marine tutorial? This includes an example DMO job that you might find useful. I've attached a section of the tutorial documentation (7.3 - Sorting to offset planes and applying dip moveout (DMO) p52-p54) and relevant jobflow to this post. Let us know if there is anything further. 6 years ago |

Multiple header dump
I am wanting to do a mass header dump. The graphical window will only allow me to display two headers at a time and although I have found a way to display more than 2 headers in the Xterminal it is unable to display every trace. Is there a way to do such a header dump in the graphical display? Thanks 5 years ago |
