CRS Common Reflection Surface
Hi, There is within some process equivalent to CRS in Claritas, a client wants to generate a pseudo 3D based on 2D lines using CRS or any other equivalent technique!! Anyone have experience with this? Thank in advanced, Marcelo 8 years ago |

CVA can only run once in a project?
There is no limit on the number of times or datasets you can run CVA on in a given project. Could you give us some more info about what is happening when the second seismic line is input into CVA? You can send screenshots of the initial CVA parameter form being used and any messages seen to claritas.support@gns.cri.nz and we can take a look and see if we can figure out what the issue might be. 1 year ago |

CVA can only run once in a project?
Hello, I've got a project that includes several seismic lines. I was able to load up the first line into CVA with some standard application parameters, using an unstacked data file with geometry applied. This worked fine, the CVA program loaded up and I was able to do the velocity analysis. Later when I went to load the second seismic line, using the exact same parameters and the same processing flow on the raw data, the CVA program did not initiate. Am I missing something, or can you only crea... 1 year ago |

cva recover
Have the gathers perhaps already had nmo applied to them? You need to make sure that the gathers input into CVA have not had nmo applied to them. Before the moveout button is selected do the gathers look flat? This would suggest that an nmo has already been applied and this is the issue. If the gathers have already had an nmo applied and another nmo is applied, by using the moveout button in CVA, the data can be stretched to an extent that all the data is muted (by the stretch mute) leaving you... 7 years ago |

cva recover with cva -r .journal file
Hi Sid Have been having a play around with using the cva -r recovery command and haven't been able to replicate your problem yet. I've been picking velocities in the semblance window, on data that has five CDP's with fold zero. When I close CVA down without saving I can then use - cva -r ../JOURNALS/.cva_Journal_Thu_Jan_12_15_36_38_2012 to recover the *.nmo file from the latest journal file. What version of Claritas and what OS are you using? might help me dig into the issue a bit more. 8 years ago |

cva recover with cva -r .journal file
I hadn't come across the zero-fold CDP issue before, and we'll have a bit of a big into that to see if it can be resolved. One "trap" we have seen is where people have had the same input and output filenames, and have been saving as they have gone along; the recovery option reads the original file, and if this has been overwritten it can't make the changes it needs to. Part of the updates for V5.6 was to put some safegaurds around this - you specify an input and output filename upfront, if y... 8 years ago |

cva recover with cva -r .journal file
A very useful tool is cva -r. In case of a system crash while picking velocities, one is generally able to recover any unsaved work by typing: cva -r .journal (this is the latest cva journal file). This usually works, however there are situations when not. One of the cases when does not work, is when the geometry file (and your datasets) have at least one CDP bin with 0 fold. There is at least one another situation when the cva - r does not give the desired result. Can anyone share any experien... 50 years ago |

Data from NOD
It depends on the nodes used, but it is possible to process OBN data in GLOBE Claritas. If the nodes are multi component only the vertical component can be processed, if the nodes are geophones processing should be fine. If the relevant headers are present in the node data sorting should be a usual. Depending on the sort you want there are several modules in GLOBE Claritas that can be used to sort, and you can read more about these in the help documentation. For example DISCSORT, DISCGATH, DISC... 5 years ago |

Designature and Deghosting
The Wavelet application in GLOBE Claritas can be used to derive a minimum or zero phase designature operator from a supplied signature. You can find the documentation for the Wavelet tutorial (*.ppt) in the 'Tutorials' section of this forum. The SPIKE option from the create menu in the Wavelet application can be used to model the source and receiver ghosts, by generating spikes at the appropriate times for the source and receiever ghosts and convolving this with the supplied signature - as illus... 7 months ago |
